Description

This is an 18th-century, three-story building on Gerrard Street, originally located at 1781 Smith Street (South Side). It has a single window front and incorporates No. 2 Gerrard Street. The building has painted brick walls with flush stone quoins and a stone plinth. A 19th-century Neo Tudor shopfront is present. The left-hand wall, facing Gerrard Street, features a lower half of stone. The roof is hipped and covered with well-weathered tiles. A notable “Adam” style fireplace is found in the front room of the ground floor. The first floor has a double flush sash window, set under a lintel with a keystone. The second floor features a semi-circular casement with glazing bars. It was formerly listed as premises occupied by Brett, a tailor. Nos. 4 to 28 (even) form a group.
