Description

The Market Cross in Henley-in-Arden is a Grade II listed structure, dating from the medieval period, likely the 15th century. It is made of limestone and features two stone steps leading to its base. The cross has a worn tapering shaft that stands approximately 3 meters high, supported by wrought-iron rods. Historically, it was recorded to have a head with four niches that contained figures representing the Crucifixion, the Holy Trinity, St. Peter, and possibly the Virgin and Child until 1894. The remains of the head are now preserved in the Guildhall. The Market Cross is scheduled as an Ancient Monument.
