Description
The Seeley headstone, located approximately 22 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St Leonard in Charlecote, is a Grade II listed structure. It commemorates Timothy Seeley, who died in 1684, and dates from the late 17th century. The headstone is made of ashlar stone and features a truncated gable. It has an oval inscription panel surrounded by husk moulding, with cherubs depicted in the spandrels and terms on the side panels. The design includes a cornice and a head with a cherub flanked by doves, as well as a truncated gable with moulded verges. An inscribed verse is present on the back of the headstone.
