Description
Rambler Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th to early 18th century, with a small one-storey addition from the early to mid-19th century on the right. The main structure is timber-framed with whitewashed brick infill and features whitewashed brick with painted sham framing. It has a corrugated iron roof and a brick ridge stack, while the addition has a slate roof. The cottage has a three-unit plan, is one storey high with an attic, and has a two-window range. There are two plank doors in painted wood frames between the bays, and the addition has a similar door set under a segmental arch. The windows feature irregular fenestration with two-light casements, some having a horizontal glazing bar, along with fixed-light and other types of windows. A full-length open verandah supported by timber posts runs along the front. The cottage has gabled half-dormers and painted wooden boarding below the eaves and around the dormers, likely replacing thatch. At the rear, there is irregular fenestration and another gabled half-dormer. The interior has not been inspected.
