Description
Knight's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century, with 19th-century additions and alterations. It is constructed from regularly coursed ironstone and features a simple cornice. The roof is covered with concrete tiles and has coped gable parapets, along with brick ridge and right end stacks. The building has a T-plan layout, with a wing at the rear, and stands two storeys high with an attic. It has a four-window range, plus an additional window that has been inserted on the first floor.
The entrance is located in the center of the right half and features a mid-20th century half-glazed door with glazing bars, topped by a fanlight with decorative glazing. The wood doorcase is adorned with fluted pilasters, dosserets with triglyphs, and an open pediment. On the left and right sides, there are late 19th to early 20th century canted bay windows fitted with plate glass sashes. The ground floor has widely spaced sash windows set under lintels with keyblocks. To the left, there is a brick and stone lean-to with a slate roof. At the rear, there is an irregular 19th-century brick wing also covered with a slate roof, which includes an old four-plank single-panelled door and a roof dormer.
