Description

Vivian House is an early 19th-century house situated on Southam Market Hill. The house is constructed of rendered brick with a stone plinth and has a 20th-century tile roof, hipped to the right side, with brick ridge and end stacks. It is a double-depth plan building, extending over three storeys and including a basement. The front facade has a two-window range with 12-pane sashes featuring margin bars on the ground and first floors, and 6-pane sashes with margin bars on the second floor. A 19th-century door with a plain overlight is set within a surround of Ionic columns and an entablature, and is approached by four stone steps. The right-hand facade features additional 6-pane sashes and blind window openings. A 6-panelled door with a fanlight is contained within a panelled surround. Attached to the front of the house, on either side of the steps, are 19th-century wrought-iron railings set on a low stone base. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to contain features of interest.
