Description
The Midland Bank is a house that has been converted into a bank. It dates from the mid-18th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century. The building is likely constructed of brick and is rendered, featuring a plinth, pilasters, and a bracketed eaves cornice. The roof is a combination of 20th-century tiles and slate, with brick stacks at either end. The structure has three storeys on one side and two storeys with an attic on the other, displaying a seven-window range of 19th-century two-pane sashes on the right and 12-pane and 6-pane sashes on the left. There is a 20th-century door set back within a pilaster surround to the left, featuring a panelled door framed by a Corinthian pilaster surround and entablature at the centre. The building also has three gabled dormers and 19th and 20th-century gabled extensions at the rear. Inside, it is noted for having six-panelled doors with moulded architraves on the first floor. The building is included for its group value.
