Description

High Meadow is a house dating from around 1790. It is constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with buff-coloured bricks providing the horizontal lines, and has a slate roof with stone-coped gables and projecting end chimney stacks. The design is in the Georgian style, forming an "L" shape.

The exterior is three storeys high, with a symmetrical facade of three windows. A moulded brick cornice runs along the top of the building. The front entrance is round-headed, with a doorcase featuring reeded pilasters and a bracketed open pediment. Above the four-panel door is a fanlight with radial glazing bars. A 19th-century iron gabled porch has openwork details and a scrolled front panel. The windows have sills and rubbed brick flat arches; the ground-floor windows have 8/8 sashes, the first floor has 6/6 sashes, and the second floor has 3/3 sashes, with most windows having horns. The rear of the house features a two-storey gabled wing with a 19th-century addition. One rear entrance has a six-panel door, and a window has a small-paned cross-casement. A lean-to outshut is located to the left.

The interior includes a central stick baluster staircase.
