Description

Baraset House is a house built in 1772, originally part of a larger house that was later destroyed. It has undergone alterations in the 19th century and the 1950s. The house is constructed of colourwashed brick and features a hipped slate roof with brick ridge and end stacks. It has two storeys and a window arrangement of 2+3+1, with a projecting three-window center and a single-storey loggia on the right side. The wide eaves enhance its appearance.

The round-headed entrance includes a porch supported by pairs of slender columns beneath an open pediment. Above the six-fielded-panel door is a fanlight with radial glazing bars. The windows are topped with brick flat arches and feature 12-pane metal sashes, while the first floor has 9-pane sashes. The right return of the house has a gable above a 1950s loggia, with stucco detailing, and an end projection that features a blind elliptical arch with an impost band.

At the rear, there is a 1950s wing with a lateral stack, a bow-fronted bay window with three 6/9-pane sashes, a decorative iron balcony, and a first-floor segmental-headed French window. To the left, another French window has a heavy doorcase with an architrave and cornice. The loggia consists of three arches with keys and has an end window with a 12-pane sash. The garden front was altered in the early 19th century to include a later central segmental bow window.

Inside, the house features a winding stick baluster staircase at the angle of the center. The original house was located to the front and right of the current structure and is believed to have been a servants' wing.
