Description
The hothouse, located approximately 60 meters northwest of Bitham Hall, dates from around 1860. It is constructed of cast iron and glass, with a brick rear wall and base. The building features pointed arched roofs and has a symmetrical design, with a taller central range that projects outward. The dado consists of shaped pierced panels filled with planks. A central dormer with a 4-centred arch contains double leaf sash doors. The roofs retain remnants of wood cresting along the gables, and the return sides also have 4-centred sash doors. Inside, there are thin cast iron shafts, and the hothouse is noted as a large unaltered example.
