Description
The Gaydon Inn is an inn dating from the early 19th century. It features a front and return sides made of colourwashed rusticated render, while the rear and rear wing are constructed of colourwashed brick with a brick dentil cornice. The building has an old tile roof, with brick ridge and right end stacks. It is designed in a T-plan layout, with a wing at the rear, and is styled in the late Georgian manner. The inn stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a four-window range. The third bay has a late 20th-century door that includes an original flush panelled intrados, simple moulded surround, and cornice. The first and fourth bays feature tripartite sash windows, with rusticated flat arches on the ground floor. The second bay has a large late 20th-century wood mullioned and transomed square bay window with glazing bars. Throughout the building, there are 16-pane sashes. The left return side includes a late 20th-century single-storey range and a late 20th-century attic window. The rear and wing of the building are irregular in shape.
