Description

Symphony Cottage comprises two town houses, dating from the late 16th or 17th century, with later alterations. The houses are timber-framed with plaster infill, featuring a tile roof and a brick rear stack. The ground floor of the left half, number 47, was later underbuilt using whitewashed brick. The houses follow a 2-unit plan and are two storeys high. The facade has a 2-window range, with entrance doors at each end. The windows are 3-light casements with small panes, and the first-floor windows have iron opening casements. Number 47 exhibits a moulded bressumer to what was formerly a jettied first floor, and displays square framing.
