Description
This is a 17th-century dovecote located approximately 80 meters north of Wootton Hall in Wootton Wawen. It is constructed from coursed blue lias stone, featuring timber-framing with plaster infill in the gable ends, and has a plain-tile roof topped with a timber lantern. The dovecote is square in shape.
On the exterior, there is a plank door at the entrance to the gable end, and the gable ends display herringbone-patterned timber-framing. The roof is gabled, and the central lantern has openings and ledges designed for birds.
Inside, the dovecote contains stone nesting boxes. This structure is part of a group of listed items on the Wootton Hall Estate (Wootton Park).
