Description
Red House Farm House and its attached outbuildings are a late 18th-century farmhouse located on the north side of Daventry Road in Lower Shuckburgh. The building is constructed of Flemish bond red brick and features a moulded dentil cornice. The old tile roof has stone-coped gable parapets and brick end stacks. The farmhouse is designed in an L-plan, with a wing extending to the rear on the right side. It stands three storeys high and has a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door with a fanlight above, surrounded by a moulded wood Roman Doric doorcase with pilasters. The windows are sashes with rusticated stone lintels. On the left return side, there is a three-window range, with the outer bays being blind, and two-light casements featuring horizontal glazing bars. The dentil cornice continues across the gable. The interior has not been inspected. The early 19th-century outbuildings are also made of brick and have a slate roof, following an L-plan layout. They include a segmental carriage arch and a plank door on the left.
