Description
Lower Meon is a house built in the early 18th century, with a 19th-century rear wing. The structure is made of brick, featuring a timber-framed and rendered front, and has a tiled roof with brick end stacks and a cross-axial stack. It has a three-unit plan.
On the exterior, the first floor has a thinner wall, likely timber-framed. The entrance is located to the right of the center and features a plank door. The windows are two-light, small-paned, and horizontally sliding sashes. The rear of the house shows some exposed timber framing with brick infill on the first floor, along with a large 19th-century brick wing that includes a 20th-century lean-to outshut.
Inside, the house is noted for its beams and a large fireplace that has a timber surround and cornice.
