Description
This building consists of a stable, barn, and attached cowhouses, located approximately 7 meters northeast of Sambourne Warren Farmhouse. It dates from the 17th to early 18th century and features a timber frame with brick infill and weatherboarding above, set on a lias and brick plinth, topped with an old tile roof. The structure has an L-shape, comprising a 2-bay stable and a 5-bay barn in one build, along with 6-bay cowhouses. The stable on the left includes stable and hayloft doors, while the barn has doors in the second and fourth bays. The left and right return sides of the building display tension braces. Inside, there are jowled posts and a queen strut roof. Although the barn is said to have retaining walls, these were not visible during the last survey. The cowhouses, which are now converted into loose boxes, are positioned at right angles on the right side. They are also timber framed with brick infill and have an old tile roof. The front of the cowhouses was formerly open but has since been bricked and boarded in, with stable doors and a weatherboarded end wall. The building forms part of an interesting group.
