Description

The Market Cross in Hillmorton is a medieval stone structure dating back to the 13th century. It features a stone shaft that stands on a chamfered and battered plinth, which is set upon a roughly stepped base. The market was granted to Hillmorton in 1265 and was originally more significant than the Rugby Market, but it declined by the mid-17th century.
