Description
Pools Farmhouse is a farmhouse located on Frankton Main Street, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with an early 19th-century left range and wing. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a dog-tooth cornice, with old tile roofs and brick ridge stacks. The building is L-shaped, with a wing on the right extending to the rear. It has one storey and an attic for the main range and two storeys and an attic for the wing, comprising a three-window range. The two-window main range includes a flush six-panelled door on the left, framed by a moulded wood architrave and a pediment hood supported by simple panelled shaped brackets. To the right, there is a three-light wood mullioned and transomed window, along with three-light casements in the gabled half-dormers and the wing, all featuring glazing bars and brick segmental arches. The wing also contains two-light casements in a partly-blocked doorway and has a corbelled gable. A 19th-century lean-to on the left has a plank door. At the rear, the wing features pigeon holes in the gable. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have ceiling beams and is said to include an inglenook.
