Description
The building is a village hall, originally a toll house or lodge, dating from the early 19th century and extended in 1918. It is constructed of gault brick with ashlar dressings and features a patterned Welsh slate roof. The building has a central brick stack set diagonally and includes a plinth and curved eaves brackets, which were formerly supported by posts at the bowed front. It is a single-storey structure with a square plan, a bowed front, and diagonal projections at each corner that contain doors. The hall was built at the rear in 1918.
The openings feature splayed lintels with keystones. The bowed front has a large fixed glazing bar window with vents in the top lights and a corniced keystone. On each side of the front, there are projections with doorways, one of which on the left is blocked. Each side also has two windows; the south side's windows have been reglazed, while those on the north side are blocked and partly covered by mid-20th century additions. The rear of the building has two doorways flanked by diagonal projections, each with a blocked door.
Inside, the hall is plain, containing two original rooms and a cupboard, as well as an original fireplace with a wooden chimneypiece.
