Description

No 16 on Church Street is a late 18th-century building that was originally constructed as a home for Count Wratislaw, the father of Slavonic scholar Count Albert Hanxy Wratislaw, who lived here during his early years. The house is built of pale brown bricks and stands three storeys tall. It features two sash windows with glazing bars and a wood eaves cornice. On the right side, there is a full-height segmental bow with three light windows set under segmental arches. The door on the left has a rectangular fanlight and is framed by panelled Doric pilasters beneath a bracketed hood.
