Description
Red House Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse located on the north side of Nuneaton Road in Ansley. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick with a sandstone plinth, featuring alternating rusticated quoins and a moulded stone cornice. The roof is plain-tiled with brick stacks at the ends. The building has an L-plan layout with a wing on the left side at the rear and stands three storeys tall with a symmetrical front that has a three-window range.
The main entrance features a door composed of two tiers of three fielded panels, complete with panelled reveals and a fanlight above. The stone doorcase is adorned with Tuscan columns and an open pediment. The windows are sashes that have rusticated stone flat arches with keystones, while the second floor has a lower profile with 6-pane sashes.
To the right, there is a small 19th-century brick range set back, which is one storey with an attic and includes a three-light casement window with horizontal glazing bars. The rear wing is two storeys high and also has a three-window range, featuring a plank door and two- and three-light casements with glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected.
