Description
Polesworth Congregational Church is a Nonconformist chapel built in 1828. It features Flemish bond brickwork and an old plain-tile roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The tall, narrow front is symmetrical and includes a pediment adorned with moulded brick modillions, along with a painted stone inscription that reads 'INDEPENDENT CHAPEL'. The entrance consists of a six-panelled door framed by a reeded and gadrooned wood surround, complete with moulded corner panels and a cornice. The windows are round arched iron with glazing bars. A painted incised datestone is also present. The return sides of the church are roughcast and feature gables. The interior has not been inspected.
