Description
This memorial, located approximately 850 meters southeast of Packington Hall, dates from around 1760. It is made of coursed and squared sandstone and stands on a sandstone plinth. The memorial features a pediment and has cyma moulding surrounding a tablet, which is inscribed in Roman lettering. The inscription, now partly eroded, records a death by lightning at this location along with the date. One side of the memorial is adorned with a stone carving of crossed bolts of lightning.
