Description
The lodges, gatepiers, and gates at the south entrance to Packington Park are a pair of structures built in the late 18th century. Each lodge is made of brick and covered in stucco, featuring a low-pitched pyramidal roof of slate topped with a ball finial and a moulded stone cornice. The lodges are single-storey, with windows set in recessed round-headed arches on the north and south walls, and doorways with square heads on the side walls facing the carriageway. The gatepiers are rusticated and also have moulded stone cornices. The wrought-iron gates were added in 1935. These lodges are possibly designed by Matthew Brettingham.
