Description
Diddington Hall, formerly known as Diddington Mill, is a late 16th-century building, reputedly dating from around 1580. It is constructed of red brick dressed with red sandstone and features tiled gabled roofs. The hall is two storeys high with attics and has a symmetrical front that includes two large projecting tiled gables on either side of a recessed gable at the center, which has a narrow projection also gabled and a ground floor porch. The windows are stone mullioned and transomed casements, and the building has 19th-century bargeboards. The round-headed porch arch includes a keystone and stone imposts. Inside, there are several stone fireplaces with mouldings, a 17th-century staircase with turned balusters, and ball finials on the moulded newels.
