Description
This barn, located approximately 10 meters northeast of Number 14 (Queen's Mote), dates from the late 17th century. It is timber-framed with brick infill panels and some areas of brick rebuilding, topped with a plain-tile roof. The barn is a three-bay structure aligned northwest to southeast and features one storey with a gable-entry loft. The southwest front has been largely rebuilt in brick and includes central barn doors flanked by a pair of stable-type doors, which have strap hinges and segmental heads. The remaining three elevations preserve the original timber framing, showcasing two tiers of rectangular panels supported by both short straight braces and long tension braces. The roof structure consists of queen strut roof trusses with trenched purlins and straight wind braces.
