Description
The churchyard cross and three chest tombs are located approximately 5 meters south of the nave of the Church of St. Cuthbert. The churchyard cross dates from the 15th century and is made of sandstone. It features a stump of a broach stop-chamfered cross on a square base. The first chest tomb is from the 18th century, also made of sandstone, with a moulded cornice and base, and has raised and fielded panels. The second chest tomb, also from the 18th century, is made of sandstone and is possibly for an infant, featuring an unmoulded top. The third chest tomb, again from the 18th century, is made of sandstone, but its top and sides are eroded.
