Description
The Cottage is a house dating from the 16th or 17th century, featuring roughcast timber-framing and a plain-tile roof with a brick integral end stack. Originally, it was a two-cell range aligned east-west and has two storeys. The north front includes two 20th-century casements on the ground floor and one on the first floor to the right, with a small gabled extension to the left. The current entrance is located in the centre of the south front. Inside, the eastern bay has been divided into a living room and three small service rooms. Both bays have substantial cross beams with wide chamfers, with the beam in the western bay appearing to be a later addition. The external and internal walls feature exposed framing with large square panels, and there is a large open fireplace in the north-west corner of the western bay.
