Description
Glascote Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with a range to the right that may be older. The exterior is finished in stucco with some exposed stone rubble, and it features tile roofs with brick stacks at the ends. The gable faces the front to the left. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window arrangement, with a lower two-window range to the right. There are ground and first floor sill bands. The entrance includes a doorcase with fluted pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice, along with an overlight that has decorative glazing bars and a six-panel door. The ground floor windows are 12-pane sashes, while the first floor windows have 9-pane sashes; the range to the right has exposed rubble on the right end and 16-pane sashes. The rear is similar, with first floor windows featuring 3/4-pane sashes and a large single-storey 20th-century addition under a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
