Description
Heatonlow Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1651, which was largely rebuilt in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed stone and features a tiled roof with verge parapets supported by shaped corbelled kneelers. The building has end and centre ridge stacks and follows a lobby-entry plan. The front is two storeys high with four windows, which contain 20th-century three-light casements. A decorative central porch has a Tudor-arch doorway, flanked by engaged Doric columns that stand on plinths with diamond panels. The gable is parapetted and includes obelisk finials on either side and at the apex, framing a tympanum with low-relief ornament. The porch also has panelled spandrels and a studded door. To the left-hand end, there is a datestone, possibly re-set, inscribed with "WN 1651".
