Description

The Stone House is an 18th-century house located on Malthouse Road in Alton. It features ashlar stone with herringbone tooling and has a plain tile roof with a brick integral end stack. The house is aligned northeast to southwest and faces southeast. It is two storeys high with four bays, primarily consisting of casement windows. The ground floor windows on the left have 18th-century chamfered surrounds. There is a gabled porch situated to the right of the center of the building.
