Description
Old Grove Cottage is a pair of houses that have been combined into one. Originally built in the 18th century, it was remodeled in the mid-19th century. The building features ashlar stone with herring-bone tooling and has a plain tile roof, along with a brick integral end stack and a ridge stack. It is oriented east-west and faces south, standing two storeys high with a gable-lit attic above a basement.
On the ground floor, there are three windows, while the first floor has two windows, all of which are casements. To the left, there is a two-light chamfer mullioned window in the basement, and a half-glazed door is situated to the left, accessed by concrete steps. The west gable displays windows on the ground floor, first floor, and attic, all featuring straight hood moulds. The basement, ground floor, and first-floor windows are casements, and there is a C18 two-light chamfer mullioned window in the attic. The cottage is included for its group value.
