Description
Church Farmhouse, along with its attached garden wall and mounting block, is a farmhouse that underwent mid-18th century remodeling of a 17th century house. The building features ashlar with a red brick front and has a plain tile roof with coped verges and brick ridge stacks. It has a T-shaped plan, consisting of a three-room main range aligned northwest/southeast, facing southwest, and a rear wing aligned northeast/southwest. The farmhouse is two storeys high with a gable-lit attic and has a dentilled eaves band. There are four windows, which are horizontal sashes with rebated frames on both the ground and first floors. An 18th century ashlar coped brick wall encloses the front garden on the southeast and southwest sides, and there is a stone mounting block attached to the southwest side. Inside, the central room contains a wall cupboard with panelled oak doors, and there is a dog-leg staircase at the rear of the house featuring a moulded and ramped handrail, although the balusters have been removed.
