Description

The building consists of a school, an attached house, and a hand pump, all dated 1853. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a plain tile roof with shaped tile bands. There is a 20th-century brick external end stack on the east side. The design is in the Tudor Gothic style, with the house on the right being slightly lower than the school on the left.

The house has two storeys and two windows, which are two-light chamfered mullioned windows with rebated surrounds and decorative glazing bar lights. It has a central door with lancet panels. The school is single-storey with a layout of one bay, one bay, and three bays, and includes a projecting wing to the left of centre. It features tall chamfered mullioned and transomed windows with rebated surrounds, with the left-hand bay being blind. There is a gabled porch to the right that has an open Tudor arch leading to a Tudor arch doorway with a nail-studded door. Additionally, there is a nail-studded door on the left-hand return of the projecting wing and two glazing bar casements on the right-hand return.

In the garden, there is a square plan cast iron hand pump with panelled sides, a concave-sided cap, and a finial, inscribed with "BAMFORD'S / FROST / PROTECTED/ LIFT PUMP."
