Description
This building is a barn and stables located 50 meters southeast of Harracles Hall, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed and dressed stone with blue machine tile roofs and verge parapets. The structure has a large 'U'-shaped plan with limbs of unequal length, featuring a two-level design that includes hay lofts above the stables and byre.
The central section of the building has three boarded hay loft doors, a large 20th-century sliding door to the left, and six 20th-century top-hung casement windows of varying sizes across the front, leading to a boarded door on the right. The left side has two hay loft doors and a full-height segmental-arched entry at the return angle. There is a lower blocked similar arch in the center, now fitted with a stable door and window, along with a 20th-century casement window to the left and two doors next to a cart entry. The shorter right return features one hay loft door, an arch-headed entry to a through-passage at the return angle, and a 20th-century casement window and stable door to the right. The gable end apex displays a symmetrical arrangement of pigeon nesting boxes in three tiers.
