Description

The summerhouse in the grounds of Westwood Hall was built between 1850 and 1853, likely designed by the architects Hadfield, Weightman and Goldie, who also designed Westwood Hall. It is constructed from red sandstone ashlar and features a tooled plinth and a scallop-tiled roof. The structure is octagonal in shape, with a 4-centred arched doorway that has a triple round-arched mullioned overlight on one side. The other sides have triple round-arched mullioned and transomed windows, all with a continuous cill band. A pineapple finial tops the roof.
