Description
Newhouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with additions made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of cut, squared, and dressed rubble of ashlar quality, topped with a tiled roof. The building features a brick stack at the left end and a ridge stack to the right of the center. The farmhouse has a lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys high with a four-window front. The windows are mullion windows with two and three lights, arranged in a regular pattern of three, two, three, and two. There is a raised string at the first-floor level and a small projecting gabled porch located to the right of the center, along with a lean-to attached to the right. Inside, a heck screen and firehood for the house place are visible from the exterior, although the stack that would have served it has now been removed.
