Description

The Cottage is an 18th-century house located on the east side of Horse Road in Alton. It is a two-cell dwelling positioned east-west, facing south. The exterior is ashlar with herringbone tooling and smooth-faced ashlar dressings, topped by a plain tile roof. A brick stack is centrally located. The house has two storeys, indicated by a chamfered eaves band. It has two bays, each featuring a two-light chamfer mullioned window containing casements. A door is situated to the right of the centre and opens directly into the room to the right.
