Description

The Furnihough memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 20 meters north of the tower of the Church of St Leonard in Ipstones. It commemorates Jonah Furnihough, who died in 1804. The tomb is made of stone and features incised sides. At the corners, it has free-standing waisted balusters that are gadrooned below the waist, which support a fluted frieze beneath a corniced top slab. This memorial is similar in style to the Scarrat memorial nearby.
