Description

House. This house dates from the 17th century, with substantial rebuilding in the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed red sandstone of ashlar quality, with a tiled roof featuring a cyma recta eaves band and verge parapets with pitched copings. A brick stack is located at the end. The house has two storeys, a gable-lit attic, and a cellar. The front has three windows, with a lower addition on the left-hand side featuring a dormer window. It has glazing bar sash windows. A 4-light chamfered mullioned cellar window is situated to the right, and a further chamfered and labelled reveal (formerly a 2-light window) is to the left. A 20th-century entrance is located within an extension on the left. The right-hand gable features a series of central labelled windows, all chamfered mullioned casements - with three lights in the attic, a large 5-light, transom window on the first floor, and a restored 4-light window on the ground floor.
