Description
Leek Moorside Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with rebuilding and additions from the 19th century. It features coursed rough-faced stonework along with red brick rebuilding and a tiled roof. The layout includes a through passage leading to a former T-plan of parallel ranges, with an outshut at the upper end and additional structures. There are brick end stacks and a ridge stack on the hall side of the cross passage.
The building is two storeys high and has a three-window front, with an outshut projection to the right and the entrance located to the left of centre. The left-hand end and the centre bays above the first floor level have been rebuilt in brick. The eaves are toothed, and the first floor has two windows, while the left bay on the ground floor features 19th-century casements. The ground floor windows to the right of the entrance are 17th-century chamfered mullions, with the larger two featuring labels and moulded mullions. The hall window has a central king mullion and low-relief carved urns on the jambs. There are also two remaining lattice casements, and the window in the projection has an extended left-hand light.
The entrance features a Tudor arched door head with a quoin surround. At the rear of the hall, there is a further four-light mullion window, and a five-light window on the outshut side, along with a carved Tudor arched door head leading to the rear cross passage.
