Description

The Grosvenor Memorial is a large chest tomb located approximately 70 meters southeast of the Church of St. Giles. It dates from the early 18th century and commemorates Archibald Grosvenor, who died in 1705. The tomb is made of stone, possibly Portland stone, and features a moulded plinth and wide gadrooned pilasters at the corners. There are paired side panels that include extensive historical descriptions, and it has a moulded top slab. The Grosvenor family was also responsible for building Hales Hall.
