Description
The former stables to Meaford Hall, dated 1865, are arranged around three sides of a courtyard. They are constructed of red brick with stone dressings, and feature one storey plus attics. The central block includes a gabled gatehouse with a carriage arch, a clock, and a wind vane. Gabled dormers project above the eaves. The ground floor windows and doorways have stone surrounds with keyed details; stone quoins mark all corners. The roof has sprocket eaves and fish-scale tiles. Two circular tablets are present, one inscribed with the date and recording that the stables were built on the site of earlier stables by the Rt Hon George Cecil Weld Forester.
