Description
Turnover Bridge, also known as canal bridge number 100, was built around 1818 and is located approximately 500 meters to the north-west of Meaford Farm, over the Trent and Mersey Canal. The bridge is constructed of red brick and features stone saddle-back copings on its parapets. It has a single span with an elliptical arch and is designed as a 'roving' bridge, which means it has swept parapets on the south side and ramps leading down to the tow-paths.
