Description
This garden ornament, located approximately 120 metres southeast of St Joseph's Convent, was built between 1842 and 1844. It is made of dressed stone and ashlar and incorporates medieval and later materials that were salvaged from the Church of St Mary in Stafford during its restoration by Sir Gilbert Scott. The structure features a crow-stepped gable with a quatrefoil opening. To the front left, there is a section of wall that includes a round-headed ogee arch and a round arch with some coping above. Additionally, a low wall projects from the ornament, displaying various carved fragments.
