Description

Forton Hall is a 17th-century building featuring brick construction with stone dressings and a tiled roof. It has large brick stacks and stands two storeys high with an attic. The exterior includes a moulded string course, stone mullioned windows, and three gables at the front, creating a four-window façade. A gabled porch with a classical doorway and a ball finial on the gable adds to its character, along with a forestair and coped gables. The porch is dated 1665 and bears the initials S G A. The building retains elements of the Jacobean style, and there is a stone basement.
