Description
Pool Lodge is a lodge built around 1860, designed in the Gothic style and constructed from sandstone rubble. It features a steeply pitched gabled roof covered with fishscale slates. The gables are adorned with ornate openwork bargeboards, and the building has an asymmetrical layout. It stands two storeys high and includes a stringcourse at the first floor level. The Gothic stone windows have twin cusped pointed arch lights and diamond panes. The ground floor is highlighted by three canted bays, which also contain similar windows. There is a plain doorway with a ledged door that has wrought iron hinges. The chimney stacks are rebuilt in brick and topped with stone caps.
