Description

Hayes Mill is an early 19th-century bone grinding mill located on Nicholl's Lane in Oulton. The building is constructed of brick and features tiled roofs, presenting an irregular shape. The mill building to the west is two storeys high and houses working machinery, including drive shafts and two grinding pans, although one of the pans is no longer in use. Additionally, there is a disused overshot waterwheel. Hayes Mill is notable for being one of the few bone mills still operating in North Staffordshire.
