Description

No. 56 Greengate Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 15th century or early 16th century and was significantly remodeled around 1930. The building features a mock timber-framed structure with rendered infill and a plain tile roof. It has two gables facing the street, with an upper jetty and an altered lower jetty. The building is three storeys high and has a two-window range of three-light casements, along with a full-width 20th-century shopfront. Some early framing is reported to remain in the gables and upper jetty, and it may also be present in the flanking walls.
