Description
No. 44, also known as Dean Street House, is a house dated 1791, as indicated on the lintel of the doorcase and on a fireplace inside. The building is constructed of painted brick with a clay tile roof and brick stacks. It stands two storeys high and features a dentilled cornice. The front has three windows, including two ground floor canted bays that also have dentilled cornices. On the first floor, there are two tripartite windows with three-centred heads and raised key blocks in the local style, along with a blind single light window of a similar design in the centre. All windows are plate glass sashes. The entrance has a six-panelled door, with the upper two panels being glazed, and is topped with a flat hood supported by console brackets. To the left, there is a single storey extension that includes a single plate glass sash window and a dentilled cornice.
